Under the Clery Act, institutions are required to provide victims of dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking (DVSAS) with a written explanation of their rights, options, and available resources. This information must include:

  • The importance of preserving evidence;
  • Reporting options available through both institutional officials and campus/local law enforcement;
  • The option to request academic, living, transportation, or workplace accommodations;
  • The option to request protective measures, such as no-contact orders or area restrictions;
  • Information regarding on- and off-campus counseling, advocacy, legal, and other support services; and
  • Information about the institution's disciplinary procedures.
