Entrepreneurship

General Business Administration Concentration

An entrepreneur is a determined individual willing to take on the risks of starting a new business to gain the independence of being a business owner. Entrepreneurs need a strong, solid background in all business disciplines and specific understanding of how to apply those skills in their own endeavors. It is hard to predict an annual income as an entrepreneur. While the average annual earnings are about $68,000 a year, some entrepreneurs earn millions and others are less successful (www.entrepreneur.com). An entrepreneur needs fortitude, the ability to learn from setbacks, and the creative skills to strategically continue to move forward. When questioned about his “failures” during his efforts to invent a light bulb, Thomas Edison is famous for stating “I have not failed 10,000 times. I have not failed once. I have succeeded in proving that those 10,000 ways will not work.

International Business

General Business Administration Concentration

A concentration in International Business pairs well with many degrees, including Management, Marketing or General Business. Having specialized training to face a globalized economy offers leverage in the job market. The international business concentration contextualizes the knowledge and skills learned in a business degree program to prepare students for the complexities of working within a cross-cultural and diverse environment. Many people with successful careers in international business study and become proficient in one or more foreign languages.

This program is also available 100% online. Learn more about the Online Business Administration degree with a concentration in International Business.
