2020-2021 Summer Data Form

This form is for students who currently do not have summer aid. Please verify you DO NOT have summer aid on myLSUS showing in the summer column before completing this form.  Login myLSUS>Financial Aid>Awards.  

To be awarded financial aid for the summer:·

•  All students (excluding TOPS recipients)

  • You must have a 2020-21 Student Aid Report on file in the Financial Aid Office.
  • You must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).

• Pell Grant recipients

  • You may have remaining Pell Grant funds for the summer 2021 semester if you were not enrolled full-time during the 2020-21 academic year. If you were full-time during the 2020-21 academic year, an additional 50% of your Annual Scheduled Pell Award may be used, but you must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credits undergrad) during summer.

  • If you borrowed the maximum loan amount allowed during the 2020-21 academic year you will not have remaining funds for summer.
  • If eligible, you must be enrolled in at least six hours
  • Traditional graduate students must be enrolled in six hours of graduate coursework.
  • If you are applying for a student loan for the first time, you must complete Entrance Counseling and a Master Promissory Note HERE

 • TOPS Summer Criteria

  • Student has earned at least 60 hours of college credit prior to  summer session, OR
  • Summer session is required enrollment in the degree program and student is enrolled in no less than the minimum number of hours required for that degree program, OR
  • Degree program's graduation requirements can be completed during the summer session, OR
  • Course taken is required for graduation and is only offered during summer session, OR
  • Summer session is conducted for the nonacademic program a student is enrolled in.

• Visiting students are not eligible for financial aid 

• For Federal Financial Aid (Pell Grant and student loans) purposes, summer enrollment status for undergraduate students is defined as:

FULL-TIME ENROLLMENT = 12 credit hours

HALF-TIME ENROLLMENT = 6 credit hours

FINANCIAL AID WILL BE AWARDED AFTER YOU HAVE REGISTERED FOR SUMMER CLASSES.  YOU MUST BE ENROLLED IN AT LEAST 6 HOURS TO RECEIVE STUDENT LOANS.  THEREFORE, YOU WILL NOT BE AWARDED A LOAN IF YOU ARE REGISTERED IN LESS THAN 6 HOURS FOR THE SUMMER.  IF YOUR ENROLLMENT PLANS CHANGE AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN AWARDED, CONTACT THE FINANCIAL AID OFFICE IMMEDIATELY.
