LSU Shreveport is committed to making students with disabilities full participants in its programs, services, and activities through its compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 and the supplemental ADA Amendments Act (ADAAA). Accessibility Services works with both students with disabilities and the University in accomplishing this goal.

For more information regarding accommodations, see the Pilot Your Ability Student Manual.

Need to Register?

The first step toward registering with Accessibility Services is to complete the New Students Accessibility Services Form.

Students will also be asked to provide supporting documentation from a qualified professional and participate in an intake meeting to discuss barriers to access and accommodation needs.

Eligibility and accommodations are determined based on a review of the information provided.

Returning Students

Students with approved accommodations do not need to reapply. Each semester, after registering for classes, request your approved accommodations for your current courses.

To request your approved accommodations for a new term:

  1. Log in to your Accessibility Services profile using your student email credentials.
  2. Select your courses for the current term.
  3. Confirm your approved accommodations and submit your request.

Once submitted, Faculty Notification Letters will be sent to your instructors.

Please Note: If you are requesting a new accommodation, you may be asked to provide additional documentation and/or schedule a meeting with Accessibility Services to discuss your barriers to access.

Voter Registration

In compliance with the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (NVRA), LSU Shreveport Accessibility Services provides students with an opportunity to register to vote and assistance with completing voter registration applications. Students who wish to register to vote may complete the online new voter registration application through the Secretary of State's website.

Accessibility Services can also assist students with completing a voter registration application and provide mailing assistance to the appropriate Registrar of Voters' Office.
