S.H.A.R.E. Center

The S.H.A.R.E. Center is a basic needs hub for LSUS students to connect with resources that bridge the gap between our students and their goals.

S.H.A.R.E stands for Student Health, Advocacy, Resources and Empowerment.

Students that visit the S.H.A.R.E. Center have the opportunity to learn about resources they are eligible for, be it federally, locally, or even on our own campus!

Your health, belonging, and wellbeing are our top priorities. Resources are available on campus and in the community to assist you with all areas of student success: physical, emotional, social, and intellectual. The S.H.A.R.E. Center connects you to these resources so you can focus on academics, career goals, and interpersonal relationships.

Our Vision and Mission

Our Vision

We are committed to making our campus equitable and accessible for all students through community collaboration and institutional integration.

Our Mission

Our mission at the S.H.A.R.E. Center is to build a foundation for student success by empowering and advocating for them. We aim to help change the lives of students by providing them with resources to meet their basic needs, so that they can focus on achieving their goals.

Case Management

We assist students by connecting them to programs and resources that provide

  • Food - Receive food items from our food pantry!
  • Clothing - Did you know that our food pantry also has gently-used clothing?
  • Emergency aid - Connect with resources in our community that aid with emergency funds.
  • Federal and State Benefits- Visit Single Stop to check your eligibility.
  • ...and more.
Basic Needs Hub

LSUS has partnered with Single Stop USA, a nonprofit organization, to create a "One Stop Shop" for students to get connected to resources that will help keep them in school.

Students who utilize this tool get screened for multiple government benefits and local community resources, receive assistance in accessing those benefits, and follow-up to see if they have in fact received the benefits they are eligible for.

LSUS Foundation Emergency Fund

Generous donors have established a fund to help students when a minor, one-time financial challenge such as a car repair, utility bill, childcare, etc., has the potential to derail their pursuit of a college degree at LSUS. This fund does not provide additional dollars for tuition.

For information on how to apply for these emergency funds, contact the Dean of Students office at 318-797-5116 or via email at deanofstudents@lsus.edu.

Our campus is dedicated to giving the students the tools they need to THRIVE!
