Jennie has nearly 20 years of experience working in Career Services. She has progressive experience at four institutions, representing mid-sized public and small private universities, working in roles focused on career advising, employer relations, and currently, in leadership as the Director of Career Services at LSU Shreveport, where she has worked since 2016. In this role, she and the Assistant Director work together to serve a student body of over 11,000, liaising between students and the employers who hope to hire them. They also serve alumni, offering on-going career and professional development support as they navigate reaching or re-evaluating their long-term goals.
Jennie is passionate about assisting learners navigate the world-of-work with confidence, empowering them to research industry needs, to connect their academic knowledge to the world of work, and to execute proactive internship and job-searching strategies that work in today’s economic climate
In 2007, Jennie received her Master of Education in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in College Student Personnel Administration from James Madison University and her BA in Psychology from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania in 2005. She lives in Shreveport with her family and her extensive collection of Stephen King books. |
