SHREVEPORT, LA. - LSUS Women’s Basketball’s DeAuja Thompson has been named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Player of the Week, announced by the LSWA on Monday.

Thompson, who earned LSWA Women’s Basketball weekly honors for the second time this season, scored 23 points with five rebounds, one assist, two steals and two blocks in a 65-61 loss to Dillard last Monday. The Columbus, Ohio native earned LSWA Women’s Basketball honors after her play for the Pilots in the month of November.

For the season, Thompson leads the Pilots with 16.6 points per game while also averaging 5.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. She leads the team with 16 steals and is tied for the team lead in blocks with 13.

The Pilots, currently sitting at 5-7 on the season, will be back in action on Thursday, January 6th as they welcome Wiley College to The Dock in Shreveport to kick off conference play. The game will tip-off at 5:30 p.m. CT.
