SHREVEPORT, LA. - LSUS Women’s Basketball’s DeAuja Thompson has been named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Player of the Month for November, announced by the LSWA on Wednesday. The first edition of the award was chosen based on each nominees’ stats from all games played through November 28th.

Thompson has been the leading Pilots in most statistical categories so far this season. Through the Pilots’ first ten games, Thompson is averaging 16.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. Her performances include a 20-point performance in the Pilots’ season opener against Southeastern Baptist in which she shot over 80 percent from the field. She followed that performance up with a 14-point, 13 rebound double-double performance against Tougaloo College. Her season high in points came against Texas Wesleyan where she scored a team leading 23 points on 48 percent shooting. 

The Pilots, who currently sit at 4-6 on the season, will be back in action on Saturday, December 4th as they welcome Tougaloo College to The Dock in Shreveport. The game will tip-off at 4 p.m. CT.
