Biography
Dr. Sezgi Başak Kavaklı is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Arts and Media at Louisiana State University Shreveport. Her teaching focuses on digital media, social media analytics, and journalism, while her research explores how media shape public discourse around migration, polarization in journalism, and the evolving landscape of digital storytelling and data-driven reporting. She is particularly interested in how media representations influence social attitudes and how data and digital platforms can be leveraged to support more nuanced and ethical storytelling.
