Stress Reduction Programming

Counseling Services offers a variety of stress reduction opportunities for students and other campus members.  From light yoga to meditations to aromatherapy, as well as special guests providing information and techniques for enhancing overall well-being.  Additionally, requests from students, student organizations, and faculty and staff are welcome.  Contact us to discuss your needs: 318-797-5365.



Join us every Monday for a brief exercise in mindfulness. During common hour, leave class and then find a quiet spot to Zoom in with us at 11:15. Each week, we'll do a brief check-in with participants, and then choose a theme focused on your current needs, and walk you through a very calming, stress-reducing practice. You'll leave recharged and empowered to take on the week!

MASTERING MIDTERMS ---> Meditation Walk-Ins

DATES: Monday-Thursday, March 1st-4th

TIMES: 10am-2pm

LOCATION: Administration Building, Room 218 (Student Development Conference Room)

DESCRIPTION: For mid-terms week, come to Counseling Services anytime between 10am-2pm on Monday-Thursday, at your convenience, for an opportunity to experience your choice of brief or longer meditation in our Zen Zone.

We will provide aromatherapy, calm music, relaxed lighting, props, and continuous guided stress-reducing meditations throughout this period. No knowledge or experience in meditation required. All you have to do is show up, get comfy, and be ready to relax!

(NOTE: Staff will be ensuring safe distancing protocols, masks being worn, and proper sanitization procedures.)
