SHREVEPORT – The LSU Shreveport Foundation, in partnership with LSU Shreveport Continuing Education, invites the community to join a remarkable cultural day trip to Dallas on Friday, Aug. 9, to experience the award-winning Broadway production “Life of Pi” at the Winspear Opera House.
Based on the bestselling novel by Yann Martel, “Life of Pi” tells the powerful story of a teenage boy who survives a shipwreck only to be cast adrift in a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger. The stage adaptation explores themes of faith, survival, and storytelling, brought to life through breathtaking lighting, video, sound design, and world-class puppetry.
“This type of outing reflects our broader commitment to creating meaningful experiences for the entire community -- not just our students or alumni,” said Laura Perdue, President & CEO of the LSUS Foundation. “We’re proud to support events that enrich lives and extend LSU Shreveport’s reach well beyond the Shreveport-Bossier area.”
The $225 ticket includes luxury motorcoach transportation, snacks en route, premium seating for the matinee performance, and lunch at the Skyline Terrace at the AT&T Performing Arts Center.
“We know that traveling to Dallas can feel intimidating or stressful, especially for a day trip,” said Leigh Anne Chambers, Executive Director of Events & Community Initiatives at LSU Shreveport. “Our goal is to make it as easy and enjoyable as possible. We take care of the planning so our guests can relax and focus on the joy of the experience.”
