SHREVEPORT – Start the New Year off right with LSU in Shreveport’s first-ever MENtality Workshop: Mental Wealth on Jan. 16.
The one-day event will feature interactive breakout sessions, dynamic speakers, and opportunities for networking and collaboration, all centered on the theme of men’s well-being and leadership in today’s fast-paced world.
The workshop will begin at 8:30 a.m. and last until 3:30 p.m. in the University Center.
“The MENtality Workshop leverages LSUS and community resources to bring forward the issues faced by men,” said Demitrius L. Brown (he/him), Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at LSUS and chairman of the conference committee. “Our goals are to begin directly addressing these issues and begin building the right coalitions to address these challenges.
“We know that men in the U.S. face numerous intersecting issues including an acute mental health crisis, rising economic precarity, loneliness and isolation, relationships and dating, and struggles within the education system. This convening is a way for all of us, regardless of our gender, to come together to heal and solution-build for our communities.”
The early-bird cost to attend is $79 (register before Jan. 8) with the full cost being $99. Learn more about the conference and register here.
The workshop complements LSUS’s growing portfolio of community initiatives designed to foster leadership, resilience, and personal growth — joining events such as the annual Women in LeadHERship Conference, returning March 20.
