Biography

Juanita Paul is the Assistant Director of Academic Advising for Special Populations at LSUS. She is from the US Virgin Islands and completed her undergraduate degree and both master’s degrees from LSUS. She is dedicated to guiding students through critical academic transitions and helping them access the resources they need to thrive. Her area of supervision includes advising support for transfer students, international students, student-athletes, seniors, and students on academic probation or suspension. She also works closely with first-year and first-generation students, providing proactive, holistic advising grounded in advocacy, empowerment, and student-centered support. In her role as a First Year Seminar Instructor, she strives to create inclusive learning environments where students build confidence, develop a sense of belonging, and define success on their own terms.
