Biography

Dr. Minsun Kim is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship at LSU Shreveport. She earned her Ph.D. in Business Administration from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 

Dr. Kim is the recipient of the Joe B. Calloway, Jr. Professorship in Business, the William C. Woolf Endowed Rising Star Professorship in Business, and the College of Business Faculty Innovation Award. She holds five teaching certificates and has actively mentored students who have earned recognition in international and campus-wide competitions, such as the STR Student Market Study Competition and the Pilot Pitch Business Model Competition. She has chaired the hospitality curriculum and industry certification task forces and has guided approximately 150 students in earning one or more professional analytics certifications. Additionally, Dr. Kim has developed certification exam questions in collaboration with higher education institutions, faculty colleagues, and industry partners, including the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute, Revenue Management Group, and Smith Travel Research. 

Her research interests include pricing and revenue management, strategic management and competitive dynamics, AI applications in business, and organizational and entrepreneurial performance. She has published ten articles in leading business and hospitality journals, contributed a textbook chapter, and authored an industry press article. Dr. Kim has presented her research internationally across Europe, Asia, North America, and Africa, and she serves as an ad hoc reviewer for numerous journals and academic conferences. 

At LSUS, Dr. Kim teaches both MBA and undergraduate courses, including Organizational Strategy and Policies, Hospitality Analytics, Principles of Management, and Hospitality and Casino Marketing. Prior to joining LSUS, she taught Revenue Management and Hotel Analytics at both undergraduate and graduate levels at Temple University. With eight years of professional experience in the U.S. and South Korea, she brings expertise in asset management consulting, revenue management, food and beverage operations, resort management, guest service training, and event organization.
