Louisiana State University in Shreveport is committed to ensuring that all first-time freshmen have the opportunity to succeed and have a full college experience. One way LSU - Shreveport provides for this opportunity is through the Student Orientation and Registration (SOAR) program. SOAR Leaders are an integral part of the SOAR experience. It is through these enthusiastic and knowledgeable students that first-time freshmen learn about the university experience and LSUS.
These orientation leaders are a select group of students who demonstrate a commitment to LSUS, leadership skills, creativity, enthusiasm, and a general interest in their fellow students. They provide a wealth of information to the new students, assist the new students with scheduling classes, and facilitate their adjustment to the university environment...after all, college is different from high school!
