Letter from the Provost and
Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs

lsus provost helen taylor

I’m Helen Clare Taylor, Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.  That title means that I am responsible for the success of all academic programs of the University. That’s a pretty big task! Luckily I have the Deans and Chairs in the different colleges and departments to help me and we all work together to give students the best experience possible in their educational career at LSUS.

   The Provost and Vice Chancellor:

  1. Supervises the Schools of Business, Education, Human Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Mathematics and Sciences
  2. Serves with the Deans of the University in the areas of faculty recruiting, retention, and development
  3. Oversees program development
  4. Serves alongside other senior administrators in advancing the priorities of all parts of the University
  5. Supervises the following offices:
    1. Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement
    2. The Pioneer Heritage Center
    3. The Spring Street Museum
    4. Student Development
    5. Assessment & Accreditation

If you have a question about a course or a program, your first point of contact should be the Chair of the department that the course is in.

I truly love LSUS, and I can assure you that the university is home to world-class faculty and staff who are dedicated to teaching and mentoring the next generation of leaders in Northwest Louisiana and beyond. Your success is our success, and our mission. I wish you the very best in your academic endeavors and I look forward to seeing you around campus!

"In the College of Arts and Sciences, our diverse programs harness human creativity, innovative technologies, and cutting-edge science to support your quest for knowledge – of the world and of yourself. We look forward to guiding you into your future."

The LSUS College of Business is committed to educating, engaging, and empowering learners throughout their educational journey, by providing a high-quality and affordable education centered around an innovative curriculum embracing work-force ready skills.
