LSU Shreveport's online Master of Education in Educational Leadership gives students the skills and expertise to engage in leadership opportunities beyond the classroom and help improve their community, school, and student's lives. The curriculum focuses on essential aspects of educational leadership, including schoolwide planning, technology implementation, management logistics, and a study of the appropriation and allocation of public financial resources for education. Course work aligns with national and state standards: the Educational Leadership Constituent Council (ELCC) standards, the Standards for School Principals in Louisiana (SSPL), and the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (PSEL).

Applicants to this program should have a graduate degree from an accredited university OR a bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a minimum 2.5 overall GPA or minimum 2.75 GPA in last 60 semester hours of courses.
