SW 105: Introduction to Social Work 3 cr.A general introduction to the field and profession of social work. Historical survey, description of social welfare programs in contemporary American society, and the roles of the social worker in meeting social needs. Also listed as SOCL 106.Three hours of lecture.
SW 280: Social Work Methods 3 cr.
An overview of the techniques which study or approach the understanding of individuals and their problems. The course will also examine techniques or approaches to social problem intervention at the societal level. Also listed as SOCL 280. Three hours of lecture.
SW 322: Juvenile Delinquency 3 cr.
Study of delinquency, its causes, treatment, and prevention. Three hours of lecture. Also listed as SOCL 322.
SW 360: Overview of American Social Welfare 3 cr.
The interrelatedness of social welfare delivery systems at the local, state, and national level. Also listed as SOCL 320. Three hours of lecture.
