LSUS Continuing Education Offers Summer Camps for Kids

SHREVEPORT, LA- LSUS Continuing Education is offering various summer camps for K-12 students this coming July, designed to give them supplemental instruction and training during their summer break. Continuing Education will also be offering a full slate of programs for adults seeking to expand their knowledge base, and add to their professional development.

CodeCraft is a programming class for ages 7-14 available in the morning at 8 a.m. or the afternoon at 1 p.m. on July 8. Students will have the opportunity to learn how to write computer programs all while solving puzzles, completing quests and unlocking new levels with the World of Minecraft. Code Ninjas' Robo Pro Robotic, available on July 8, is a camp where students will tackle robotics, coding, and engineering for kids of all levels.

Various courses will be offered for adults such as the ACT Summer Institute on July 8, Floral Design on July 9, and Intro to Pottery on July 11. The ACT Summer Institute is a week-long exam prep course that covers the skills needed to succeed on the ACT. The Floral Design course is designed for both the basic hobbyist and those who wish to become licensed florists. This course will cover how to make bridal, corsage, funeral, and party pieces. Intro to Pottery will teach students about several types of clays, hand building/wheel throwing techniques, the firing process, and glazing. This course requires a $40 supply fee.

The LSUS office of Continuing Education invites anyone in the Shreveport-Bossier area to consider their course offerings for their professional development and leisure recreation.
