LSU Shreveport Alumni Association Announces 2020-2021 Board of Directors, Plans for Future Engagement

Shreveport, LA – Louisiana State University in Shreveport Alumni Association recently announced their 2020-2021 Board of Directors and outlined their plans to further engage alumni in the coming years.

Under the direction of Laura Beeman Nugent, the association plans to focus on the development of relationships with stakeholders and increasing engagement with those stakeholders in the first year. “We will be adding alumni to various committees to improve our understanding of alumni needs,” said Nugent. “We will also have advisory committees composed of specific target stakeholders, for example, young alumni, faculty and staff, etc. We will be reintroducing the ‘Friends of the Alumni Association’ Program as well to allow for those who may not be alumni but have a connection to the school an opportunity to be in support.”

Officers for the 2020-2021 board year as follows: President, Keith R. Perkins, CPA, Partner, Accounting Systems Consulting Group, LLC; Vice President, Jazmin J. Jernigan, MBA, Principal Artist/Owner, Aesthetic Innovations, LLC; Treasurer, Kenneth W. Betzing, PA-C, Physician Assistant; and Secretary, Barzanna A. White, Ph.D., District School Psychologist/SCGT Director.

“I am proud and honored to lead the Alumni board this year,” said President Keith R. Perkins. “and plan to center my focus on promoting Louisiana State University Shreveport to all.”

New directors joining the board are Adam West, Vice President, Progressive Bank, Karen Wissing, Senior Communications Consultant, AEP SWEPCO and Kevin Nolten, Director of Academic Outreach at the Cyber Innovation Center and Director of the National Integrated Cyber Education Research Center.

Directors continuing their terms on the board are Gerald R. (Jerry) Badgley, M. Ed., Principal of C.E. Byrd High School; Kathryn M. Ferguson, M.A., Social Studies Teacher and Department Chair, Youree Drive Middle AP Magnet School; Ravinda H. Goel, M.D., Medical Director, Willis-Knighton Work Kare; Michael D. Gould, CPA, Partner/Auditor, Carr Riggs and Ingram, LLC; Victor A. Mainiero, M. Ed., Director of High Schools, Caddo Parish; Maris Vazquez Morgan, PT, Ph.D., Associate Professor Physical Therapy, LSUHSC School of Allied Health Professionals; Tiffany L. Sandifer, M.A., Program Coordinator of Student Life, Bossier Parish Community College; Bobby Rex Tamplin, CPA, Principal Owner, Aliign Mineral Management, LLC; Adrienne Chitman will serve as the board alternate.

“Through the board, we have the opportunity to enrich the alumni experience to our newest through our oldest alumni,” said Perkins. “And, for our community, we have the duty to exclaim its value to our region and city. For our new board members, thanks for contributing your time and talents!”
