Graduate Admissions

LSU Shreveport proudly offers a variety of areas of study at the graduate level. Our programs are nationally ranked and well-known for exemplary faculty and affordability; two things that we know are important for students seeking a graduate degree. Submit your application today, and we can't wait to welcome you to the Pilot family!

For unconditional admission, applicants must...

  • be in satisfactory standing at the last institution attended
  • meet all admissions requirements for their desired degree program

Applicants who possess a graduate degree previously earned from a university accredited by the proper regional association are eligible for unconditional admission to graduate study without regard to the undergraduate GPA.

Applicants who do not possess a previously-earned graduate degree must have a minimum 2.5 GPA on their completed undergraduate degree (on a 4.0 scale) or a minimum 2.75 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) on their last 60 hours attempted.

A minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) is required on any graduate work attempted with no grades of D or F.

Important Application Steps

Pay the $20 application fee ($30 for international students).

  • Payable by credit card on MyLSUS.
  • Payable by check or money order sent to the LSUS Accounting Services department. Please be sure to include the student's name and social security number.

Submit official transcripts from each college or university attended.
Request an official transcript from all colleges or universities previously attended whether or not credit was earned. Transcripts can be mailed directly to the LSUS Admissions and Records Office or sent electronically to admissions@lsus.edu via secure means, i.e., eSCRIP-SAFE, Parchment, etc. Students who have attended institutions outside of the United States should submit a completed course-by-course evaluation of all credits and/or degrees earned. Please refer to the International Graduate Checklist for instructions on ordering an official course-by-course evaluation as well as the list of approved evaluation companies.

Submit Immunization Records form.

You may print the online form and send it to the university via mail, fax, or on campus in the Graduate Studies office. Students enrolled in a 100% online program are not required to submit immunization records.
