Scholarships

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ENTERING STUDENTS 

First-time, full-time freshman students may qualify for one of four scholarships.  These scholarships, in addition to the Taylor Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS), may give some students a free education!   Your complete Admissions Application, including your official high school transcipt and ACT/SAT scores, is your scholarship application.  The deadline to submit application & official documents is July 1, for fall enrollment and December 1, for spring enrollment.   To apply for admission click here

Freshmen Scholarships for students entering 2019-20 school year:

Louisiana Scholarship  
-Tuition and fees plus book allowance
-30 ACT and 3.5 high school GPA 

Red River Scholarship       
-$1,800 per semester
-26 ACT and 3.0 high school GPA

Shreveport Scholarship  
-$1,500 per semester
-24 ACT and 3.0 high school GPA

Purple and Gold Scholarship
-$1,000 per semester
-20 ACT and a minimum 2.5 high school GPA

Freshmen Scholarships for students entering 2020-21 school year:

Red River Scholarship       
-$1,800 per semester
-26 ACT and 3.0 high school GPA

Shreveport Scholarship  
-$1,500 per semester
-22 ACT and 3.0 high school GPA

Purple and Gold Scholarship
-$1,000 per semester
-20 ACT and a minimum 2.5 high school GPA

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS

Full-time, entering transfer students may qualify for a transfer scholarship. Your complete Admissions Application, including official transcripts, is your scholarship application. If you are currently enrolled at another college or univeristy when you apply for admission, submit a current official transcript now, and then submit a final official transcript at the conclusion of the term. The deadline to submit application & official transcripts is May 1, for fall enrollment, and November 1, for spring enrollment.    

Transfer Scholarship  
-$1,000 per semester
-3.0 college GPA        
-Earned a minimum of 12 hours  

LSUS FOUNDATION AND NOEL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ENTERING FRESHMEN, TRANFER & CONTINUING STUDENTS

The LSUS Foundation, Noel Foundation and private donors generously fund scholarships for our students. These scholarships are awarded once a year and begin the following fall semester.  

Scholarship applications must be submitted ONLINE via our Academic Works scholarship management site.   CLICK HERE to create your account and submit your scholarship application.

Applications for NEWLY ADMITTED FRESHMAN students are open November 1 - January 31.  Selected students will be notified of their award in mid-February for the upcoming fall semester.    

Applications for CONTINUING and TRANSFER students are open November 1 - March 1.  Selected students will be notified in April for the upcoming fall semester.

LSU Board of Supervisors Scholarship
Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of members of the LSU Board of Supervisors to full-time and part-time students who are enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs at the various LSU System campuses.  Additional information including the application process is located on the LSU Board of Supervisors website
