Clinical Preparation and Partnerships

The School of Education believes that teacher candidates gain the ability to apply knowledge, skills, and dispositions learned in the university courses only through working with children and youth in real-world classroom settings. Therefore, the primary function of the Office of Clinical Preparation and Partnerships is to make provisions for early and ongoing clinical experiences beginning with the first education course taken by candidates and culminating with a year-long residency. These experiences are a cooperative effort by the candidate, the University, and the school communities in which candidates are placed.
