Jones’ 2006 squad posted a record breaking 14-wins in a single season, surpassing last years mark of 12-wins; making his career record at LSUS 26-10 overall. | Mobile, AL---If ever a team has been backed against the wall heading into an elimination match, it was the LSUS Lady Pilots Tuesday night. After a 6-1 loss in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament championship at the hands of the 24th ranked University of Mobile Lady Rams, the Lady Pilots needed to regroup and prepare for a rematch as they were up against the same Lady Rams in round one of the Region XIII Tournament just three days later. Despite losing leading scorer Katrina Blackwell due to illness, and an injury to forward Julia Vaughan in the 10th minute of the first half, the Lady Pilots put forth a champion’s effort, but in the end dropped a 2-1 decision to the Lady Rams.

| Mobile, AL---In the semi-final round at the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament Friday night in Mobile, AL, the #3 seed LSUS Lady Pilots took on the #2 seed William Carey College Crusaders. The Crusaders jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute of the first half, but the Lady Pilots responded with three unanswered goals, two off the foot of freshman midfielder Julia Vaughan to take a 3-1 lead into the half. LSUS held off the Crusaders in the second half limiting them to three shots on goal and went on to win their first ever post season match 3-1, and are bound for the GCAC championship game Saturday night versus the University of Mobile Rams.

| Shreveport, LA---The LSUS Lady Pilots played host to the Southern Utah University Thunderbirds Sunday afternoon at the Swamp looking for their third victory of the year over an NCAA Division I opponent. The two teams battled to a 1-1 tie throughout regulation forcing overtime for the first time in LSUS soccer history. Just 3:18 seconds into the extra frame, Shaley Ipson gathered a loose ball in front of LSUS goal keeper Sarah McLean and drove home the game winner to improve the Thunderbirds record to 6-3-6 on the season.
