- What is a Peer Counselor?
- Do you need to make an appointment?
- I'm in a hurry. Can't I just drop my paper off at the UWC so someone can fix it up for me, and come by later to pick it up?
- Can you write my paper for me?
- I'm not enrolled in an English class. Can I still use the UWC?
- Aren't you really here to provide only remedial help? Won't people laugh at me when they find out I've been to the UWC?
- What is a Peer Counselor?
A Peer Counselor is a full-time student with strong writing skills and an enthusiasm for working with people.
- Do I need to make an appointment?
A. No, you are welcome to just drop in. However, appointments are a good idea at peak times of the semester and for anyone with a limited amount of time.
- I'm in a hurry. Can't I just drop my paper off at the UWC so someone can fix it up for me, and come by later to pick it up?
No, you must participate in a Counseling Session. One of the most effective ways for you to learn how to correct or to avoid errors is to interact with a Peer Counselor.
- Can you write my paper for me?
Never! The UWC is here to help you develop and strengthen your writing abilities. We offer guidance and suggestions only. YOU are the student, and YOU will write your own papers.
- I'm not enrolled in an English class. Can I still use the UWC?
We can help with writing assignments for all your classes.
- Aren't you really here to provide only remedial help? Won't people laugh at me when they find out I've been to the UWC?
Absolutely not! Even the best writers need a pair of "outside" eyes to look over their papers.
