Public recreation is a critical function of the Red River Education & Research Park at C. Bickham Dickson Park. While encouraging research & education, the committees that have studied the creation of the RRERP have been adamant in their desire to continue the broad range of recreational activities that have made it the city of Shreveport’s most popular resource-based park.
Picnicking and bank fishing at the park are good excuses to relax and enjoy the fresh air and natural scenery. If you’re more energetic, fly a kite or play ball in the open fields, launch a boat and take a fishing tour of the lake, or take a nature walk through the woods.
Our rules are the same here as at all our city parks. The short version is: Don’t smoke or drink, keep your vehicle on the pavement and your dog on a leash.
