The Division of Student Affairs is directly responsible for programs and educational experiences that take place outside of the classroom. The Student Affairs staff works together with campus organizations and services to develop programs that address the academic, social, developmental, psychological, and personal needs of students. Five departments report directly to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.
The Office of Student Affairs directly oversees communication programs to students, such as the Student Handbook. The Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs works directly with students as advisor to the Student Government Association, and through various programs and activities throughout the year. The Division of Student Affairs plays a pivotal role in the recruitment and retention of students. The Office of student affairs coordinates the four-year Student Success Series, a major part of the University's retention effort.
