PURPOSE

The purpose of the organization is to promote the development of professional interest and attitudes among college students preparing for the teaching profession. Membership provides classroom insurance coverage, state and national publications and a discount off post-graduation NEA and LEA dues. Participation in LAESP functions gives preservice teachers the opportunity to interact with LSUS faculty and the Professional Development School faculty, staff, and students.

ACTIVITIES

A Student-Teacher reception is given at the end of each semester. A Children's Book Fair is hosted by the organization each Fall and Spring semesters. Meetings include guest speakers and pertinent information about the education profession.

MEETINGS

Meeting Time: Wednesdays during Common Hour (11 am) —specific dates advertised during semester.
Meeting Place: BE 113

Education major or Alternative Certification.
