Society of Human Resource Management at LSUS

PURPOSE: The Society for Human Resources Management's Student Program was created in 1965 to promote mutually beneficial interaction between HRM students and practitioners.  Since the first chapter was chartered nearly 40 years ago, the student program has experienced tremendous growth.  The program now includes over 430 affiliated student chapters and nearly 11,000 student members which includes our chapter here at LSUS.  

ACTIVITIES: SHRM has many opportunities for student members including networking with local HR and business professionals, scholarships, internships, job shadowing, a a planned Spring conference.  These opportunities are designed to put you directly in contact with HR professionals who are among an organization's gatekeepers.  Networking with these professionals and drawing on their professional experience can only help you to develop the necessary skills to hep you land that perfect job.  See our board outside room BE 104, or  email us at shrm@lsus.edu for more information.  

MEETINGS:
Meeting Time: Third Wednesday of every month at Common Hour (a.m.)
Meeting Place: BE 104

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS: Currently enrolled as a student in the School of Business at LSUS.  Attend group functions and meetings as to better the organization and enhance your student experience.

DUES: $10 per semester or $15 per academic year and $35 national dues
