Honor Societies

LSU Shreveport Chapter of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society

PURPOSE: To encourage academic excellence among LSU Shreveport freshmen, reward academic excellence, provide opportunities to meet scholars from all academic disciplines at LSUS and to join college student scholars in promoting academic excellence and community service.

ACTIVITIES: Annual Canned Food Drive for the Caddo Council on Aging, boxtops for schools, candygrams, Tutor services for freshmen, Paint Your Heart Our with City of Shreveport, and cooperative activities with other organizations 

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS: Membership into the organizations is granted to students by invitation in their first semester of their sophomore year at LSUS. To be eligible students must be a first time, full-time freshmen who earned a 3.5 GPS in either their first semester or second semester at LSU Shreveport or other accredited institution of higher education. Students may not have pending court violations or convictions or any academic probations.  Membership is through invitation only after review of academic records. 

DUES: $15 per year
