Alpha Epsilon Delta at LSUS

PURPOSE: Alpha Epsilon Delta functions as both an honor society and service organization. The mission of the Society is to encourage and recognize excellence in premedical scholarship; to stimulate an appreciation of the importance of premedical education; to promote communication between medical and premedical students and educators; to provide a forum for students with common interests; and to use its resources to benefit health organizations, charities and the community.
ACTIVITIES: Alpha Epsilon Delta is an organization that promotes service to the community. Below is a list of organizations we may cooperate with:
- Shreveport-Bossier Community Renewal Center
- Sci-Port
- American Red Cross
- American Cancer Society
- LSUHSC Camp Tiger
- Northwest Louisiana Food Bank
- Meals on Wheels
- Volunteer at Pool of Siloam Medical Ministry
- Volunteer at Sci-Port Divscovery Center
There are also numerous nursing homes and hospitals and various other unnamed organizations in the area with which we may work.
Academic Events: Alpha Epsilon Delta is an honor society and therefore, we promote service to the academic community on campus as well. Throughout the semester we will host various presentations, workshops, and visiting speakers to enhance the academic exposure of the students on campus. We hope to also provide various other opportunities to members. An important goal of ours is to help our members succeed academically and reach their goals. As a part of this, we plan to host several workshops related to the application processes for graduate and professional schools. As we make plans for this, the dates for these events will be posted on this site.
