Orientation leaders are an integral part of the Division of Student Affairs and its mission to assist students establish personal autonomy, form satisfactory personal relationships, and set educational and personal goals.
Each fall, the Student Development and Counseling Center selects a group of mature and dedicated students to assist with the development and implementation of orientation programming for freshman and transfer students. Orientation leaders are students who are well-respected, academically successful, possess good interpersonal skills, and demonstrate leadership potential. Orientation leaders serve as guides to new students who are making the transition from their high school environment to the diverse academic, intellectual, and social culture of LSUS.
