Projects a the Red River Watershed Management Institute

Red River Research and Education Park at Sunflower Point
The 585-acre wetland/park, located adjacent to LSUS, is cooperatively managed by the City of Shreveport and LSUS. The Park serves as a living laboratory for the Institute providing a place for hydrological, geological, and biological research in a seasonally flooded oxbow lake wetland.

Bat Habitat Project
An overview of an artificial bat cave constructed using large used land mining tires.

Hydrology Projects
            Groundwater Monitoring
            Surface Water Monitoring

Biological Inventories
Flora and fauna surveys are of biological importance in this area to identify a baseline of species composition.

Invasive Species Monitoring
This area has been inundated by invasive species. Two of these nonnative species, Hydrilla verticillata and Salivinia molesta, have been problematic in area waterways. The Institute is working to assess the impact of these nonnative species and to help control these species with new methods.
