LSUS to host International Lincoln Conference

LSU Shreveport will host the International Lincoln Conference October 22-24, 2009 in the University Center. The event will be on Thursday from 9:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m., Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The conference is endorsed by the Presidential Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission.
The conference features approximately 40 scholars from colleges and universities across the United States and from abroad, such as Bangladesh, India, Japan, Germany and Italy. The scholars will make presentations on a dozen panels with opportunity for audience participation. In addition to the scholarly presentations, the conference features a publishers' book display on new publications and a stamp exhibit of Lincoln around the world.
