The LSUS Police Department is comprised of 10 well-trained qualified police officers. These officers receive their training through the Criminal Justice Institutes Police Academy. They are commissioned University Police Officers by the Louisiana State Police.

The department provides law enforcement service to the university on a 24 hour a day basis.

During the year the department provides numerous services from safety training on fire and tornado drills and to awareness and assistance in the prevention of violence in the workplace. The University Police Department also provides instructional meetings on personal safety. The LSUSPD is eager to serve the needs to the university community.
