The Circulation Desk is located on the first floor near the entrance of the library facing Bronson Hall. Interlibrary Loan and Reserve services are also housed at this desk. Services available from this area are:
- Checking in / out books
- Interlibrary Loan pickup / drop-off
- LALINC card registration
- Reserve checkout
- Copier assistance
- Item location assistance
Checking Out Library Material
Current LSUS students, faculty, and staff, members of the LSUS Alumni Association and LALINC card holders may check out library books. A valid LSUS ID, LSUS Alumni Association card, or LALINC card must be presented when checking out material. Alumni members and LALINC card holders must also present a valid photo ID (Driver's License, State-issued or military-issued ID). Members of the community who wish to check out library books can join the LSUS Alumni Association to obtain borrowing privileges.

Renewing Library Material
Library materials can be renewed by either accessing the My Account feature of the Library's online catalog with your ID and PIN, presenting your student ID at the Circulation Desk or by calling the Circulation Desk at (318) 797-5225. Students must return all library materials on the last day of final exam week.

Fees and Fines
The library charges .20 per day, per item, with a maximum over due fine of $10 per item. Interlibrary Loan books carry a $1 per day, per late item fee, and there is no maximum. Library Reserve items also have varying fees. Long overdue books, and books kept past the last day of the semester will be considered lost and will incur a processing fee of $10, plus a replacement fee of $68 per item, in addition to the accumulated late fees.
Library fees can be paid to the cashier located on the first floor of the Administration Building, between the hours of 8:00 AM - 4:30 P.M. Monday through Friday. Fees may also be paid online through myLSUS. Students should note that all library fees must be paid in order to receive grades; to complete registration for future semesters; to graduate; or to request transcripts.
Damaged or Lost Items
A processing fee of $10, plus a a replacement fee of $68 per item, will be charged for a lost book. Late fees for lost books will be calculated based upon the number of days the book is past due when the patron notifies the library that a book has been lost. Books damaged beyond repair will be subject to the same fees as lost books. Fees for lesser damage will be assessed based upon the extent of the damage.
Please note that replacement fees for Interlibrary loan books are determined by the lending library.
If a lost book is found and returned within one year from the date of payment for the book, a refund of the replacement fee will be made to the person who paid for the book. The processing fee and fine are non-refundable.
Popular Movie Collection
The Library maintains a circulating DVD collection of popular films on the first floor of the library. This collection is made possible through donations from library patrons. Donated DVDs (in cases) will be considered for addition to the circulating collection.
These items circulate for three days and may be renewed once. In order to checkout a DVD, patrons should bring the film case from the shelf to the Circulation Desk, where a staff member will supply the disk and checkout the item.
The library charges .20 per day, per item, with a maximum overdue fine of $10 per item for DVDs returned late. The DVDs share the same fine structure as late books. In addition to a processing fee of $10, patrons with lost DVDs on their account must replace the film with another copy of the film in mint or near mint condition.
