New Springer eJournals Subscription!
Springer eJournals are here to complement the Springer eBooks collection. Both collections focus mainly on the sciences, including computer science and engineering. Liberal arts and social science titles are also available.

Springer eBooks Purchased
The Library has purchased the 2005-2012 Springer eBook collections. The collections contains over 30,000 ebooks, including nearly 10,000 computer science titles and over 4,000 engineering titles. Medicine, mathematics, biological, and physical sciences account for nearly half the books included, while business, education, and liberal arts related disciplines are represented by several thousand titles.

EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) Coming Soon

EBSCO Discovery Service is on the way. EDS is a next generation "discovery" product that combines single search boxes that users are familiar with and adding other familiar and intuitive features. Users will have the ability to simulatenously search nearly all of the library's electronic sources, including the library catalog, with one click. Other features include faceted searching, date sliders, and relevancy searching. Users already familiar with EBSCOHost databases will see the platform they are already familiar with as EDS is blended with EBSCOHost. Stay posted for the release date.
Eighth Annual LSUS Authors Reception

The eighth annual reception for LSUS authors will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2012, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. in the assembly room on the third floor of Noel Library. Everyone is invited to come by and help us recognize the work of our LSUS scholars. An exhibition of works received by Archives will be on display in the library and a bibliography is available. In addition to LSUS faculty, this year we have publications a student and an alumna. The Archives documents the professional activities of individuals in the campus community and annually solicits copies of all publications by faculty, staff, and alumni. In addition, one copy of all theses and dissertations written by LSUS graduate students (our future authors) is deposited in the Archives.
