About the Library

Checkout Privileges

Current LSUS students, faculty, and staff are eligible for checkout privileges and off-campus access to databases and ebooks. Members of the LSUS Alumni Association, LSUS retirees, and LALINC card holders may check out library books.

Members of the community who wish to check out library books can join the LSUS Alumni Association.

The Library maintains a circulating DVD collection of popular films on the first floor of the library. This collection is made possible through donations from library patrons. Anyone with checkout privileges for books can check this material out.

You must present your LSUS ID, your LSUS Alumni Association card, or your LALINC card to checkout material. If you present an LSUS Alumni Association card or a LALINC card, you must also present a valid photo ID (Driver's License, State-issued ID, Military ID, or Student ID from another institution).

Your Library User ID and PIN

Students trying to access library databases and the library's My Account feature should use the same login credentials as they do for myLSUS. Students who have forgotten their PIN should contact the LSUS Admissions office.

Faculty will find their User ID number of the front of their LSUS photo ID. Visit the I Forgot My PIN page to have the PIN emailed.

Members of the LSUS Alumni Association, LSUS retirees, and LALINC card holders should visit the Circulation Desk of the library to request checkout privileges. After presenting appropriate documentation and a valid photo ID, a library user ID and PIN will be issued granting access to the library's My Account feature. If the User ID or PIN is lost, contact the library Circulation Desk at (318) 797-5225 to obtain the library ID number and a PIN will be emailed to the email address on record. Changes to the account must be made in person.

Library materials can be renewed by accessing the My Account feature of the Library's online catalog, requesting a renewal in person at the library, or by calling the Circulation Desk at (318) 797-5225. Students must return all library material by the last day of final exam week.
