2014 Annual Enrollment

ANNUAL ENROLLMENT is the time of year when employees / retirees can make changes (add/drop/change level of coverage) to their insurance plans.  The 2014 Annual Enrollment is a calendar year: January 1, 2014 - December 31, 2014.  Employees / Retirees should make changes on insurance plans from October 1, 2013 - October 31, 2013.  All changes will be effective January 1, 2014.   

The Office of Group Benefits offers a number of health plans to active state employees including: 1) HMO (Blue Cross / Blue Shield of LA), 2) PPO (Blue Cross / Blue Shield of LA), 3) Consumer Driven HSA (Blue Cross / Blue Shield of LA), and 4) Medical Home (Vantage). The LSU First health plan is only available to LSU System employees.  Please note that representatives from the various Office of Group Benefits health plans will NOT be present at the LSUS Benefits Fair. The Office of Group Benefits will conduct Reginal Meetings and video presentations. Links to the OGB regional meeting schedule and video presentation are listed below.

VENDORS
Come meet the vendors to ask questions about benefits, retirement / financial planning and services. These vendors are a great resource and offer a wealth of information! Each of the vendors will have informational material at their table. Please keep in mind that these folks are here once a year for your benefit. Many of them have traveled a long way to be here. 

DOOR PRIZES!!!
We have some great door prizes!  Employees will need to register for door prizes in the Caddo / Bossier and Webster rooms.  A drawing for all of the prizes will be held at 1:00 pm in the UC Ballroom.  Employees do not have to be present to win. A special thank you to the many vendors who have donated these prizes!

CANNED FOOD DRIVE
We will also host a canned food drive during the Benefits Fair. Please bring whatever you can. All donations will be delivered to the NWLA Food Bank on behalf of LSUS. All items will be delivered in time for Thanksgiving.  Come show your support!

Office of Group Benefit Health Insurance Plans

Regional Meeting: Click here for the Office of Group Benefits Regional Meeting Schedule. Review the schedule carefully to make sure that you attend the right meeting. The regional meeting will be held at the Bossier Civic Center, not at LSUS.

Dental Plans:

Dearborn Dental will remain as the vendor for the 2014 plan year. There is an 8 percent increase for the 2014 plan year on the basic plan and the enhanced plan! For additional information, please visit the LSUS Dental insurance webpage.

Vision Plan:
Davis Vision will remain as the vendor for the 2014 plan year. There are no premium increases and no changes.

Life Insurance:
Hartford Life Insurance:  During annual enrollment employees are eligible to increase their life insurance by 1x their salary, without underwriting, as long as the increase doesn't exceed 5x their salary or $500,000.

No changes? 
Employees who do not wish to make any changes to their insurance do not need to do anything.  However, Flex Spending participants must re-enroll each year.
