2013 Annual Enrollment
ANNUAL ENROLLMENT is the time of year when employees / retirees can make changes (add/drop/change level of coverage) to their insurance plans. The 2013 Annual Enrollment is a calendar year: January 1, 2013 - December 31, 2013. Employees / Retirees should make changes on insurance plans from Monday, October 1, 2012 - Wednesday, October 31, 2012. All changes will be effective January 1, 2013.

10:00 am: Office of Group Benefits (OGB) health insurance plans (PPO, HMO, CD-HSA, Regional HMO)
12:00 pm: LSU First (CIGNA) health insurance plan (active employees and retirees)
1:00 pm: LSU First (CIGNA) health insurance plan (active employees and retirees)

**Retirees who have Medicare Primary and PPO, HMO or Medicare Advantage should plan to attend the retiree health insurance meeting on October 8th at 10:00 located at the State Exhibit Museum. Retirees who have LSU First (CIGNA) should plan to attend the meeting at LSUS on October 9th at 12:00 or 1:00.

LSU First (CIGNA): There are MAJOR changes: including changes to prescription drug coverage (brand name medications), mandatory mail order on maintenance medications, increased out-of-pocket maximum and some premium increases. Employees and retirees with this insurance should plan to attend one of the meetings. Specific information on plan changes are listed on the health insurance website. See the link below.
PPO: Previsouly administered by the office of Group Benefits will now be administered by Blue Cross / Blue Shield of LA effective 01/01/2013. Employees / Retirees will need to check with their doctors to determine if they are in-network with BC/BS of LA.
PPO and HMO Prescription Drugs: These health insurance plans have used "Catalyst Rx" as the Pharmacy Benefit Manager. The name of Catalyst Rx has changed to called "Catamaran." Plan members will receive new insurance cards.
Consumer Drive Health Plan: with the optional Health Savings Account (HSA) previously administered by United, will be administered by Blue Cross / Blue Shield of LA effective January 1, 2013.
Medicare Advantage plans (retirees only) will go from 6 plans to 3 plans. Retirees who are enrolled in the plans that will be discontinued will need to elect another plan or the Office of Group Benefits will elect a plan for them. Retirees should refer to information mailed from the Office of Group Benefits.
Dearborn Dental will remain as the vendor for the 2013 plan year. There are no premium increases! The maximum calendar year benefits has increased on the basic plan and the enhanced plan. For additional information, please visit the Dental insurance website.
Davis Vision will remain as the vendor for the 2013 plan year. There are no premium increases and no changes.
Hartford Life Insurance: During annual enrollment employees are eligible to increase their life insurance by 1x their salary, without underwriting, as long as the increase doesn't exceed 5x their salary or $500,000.
Employees who do not wish to make any changes to their insurance do not need to do anything. However, Flex Spending participants must re-enroll each year.
