Silent Auction

RiverBend Mystery Dinner Theater 2015

We appreciate your faithful support of LSU Shreveport! This year's LSUS Foundation RiverBend Mystery Dinner Theater and the LSUS Alumni Silent Auction took place Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Horseshoe Riverdome. Having completed a very successful first year at the helm, Chancellor Larry Clark received the 2015 Pilot of the Year award in celebration of all that has been accomplished under his leadership.

The Murder Mystery Company of Dallas entertained and engaged guests with a script personalized to our Shreveport-Bossier "characters." This talented company has performed for many legendary clients, including Mary Higgins Clark, the Queen of Mystery, at her 60th Birthday Party. The comedy was "masked in murder" and emceed by our very own Caddo Parish Sheriff, Steve Prator, BGS 1975, and recipient of the 2015 Distinguished Alumni Award. (We knew a "crime" would be committed, so the authorities had to be on standby.)

In addition to beautiful jewelry items and art from local donors, the Alumni Association presented a number of authentic, celebrity-signed items such as a Rolling Stones Guitar and movie poster memorabilia. We almost doubled our fundraising goal thanks to the generosity of our bidders! If you have questions about future RiverBend Auction events, or if you would like to donate to our auctions, please call 318-797-5190.

RiverBend Revue 2013

The LSUS Foundation and LSUS Alumni Association had a wonderful time hosting RiverBend Revue 2013, Wednesday, April 24 at the Horseshoe Riverdome. Our own Marcia Calhoun (BGS 2000) and Edie Williams (BGS 1988) were honored in a gala entitled "On Broadway!" Both had previously received the Alumni Association's Distinguished Alumni Award.

The Silent Auction was hosted and managed by the LSUS Alumni Association. Guests were free to bid while enjoying cocktails, dinner and music. Thanks to our generous community donors and high bidders, the 2013 auction cleared more than $10,000. Since our silent auction's inception in 2008, we have raised almost $80,000 for scholarships, projects, programs or services at LSUS!
