The Ralph A. Worley Observatory

The Ralph A. Worley Observatory is located 8 miles south of Shreveport, Louisiana on Hwy. 175. It was originally built by the Shreveport-Bossier Astronomical Society, Inc. in 1964, later donated to the Caddo Parish School System. This facility is used by many organizations in Shreveport for astronomical classes and public programs. These organizations include LSU-Shreveport (astronomy classes), Centenary College (astronomy classes), and the Shreveport-Bossier Astronomical Society, Inc. (free public star parties).

The Shreveport-Bossier Astronomical Society, Inc. needs YOUR help. Funds are needed to help support free public star parties and activities at the Worley Observatory. A tax deductable donation may be made to the Society. Contact Dr. Cran Lucas, President for additional information. Phone (318) 797-5086 or e-mail mclucas@earthlink.net.
