LSUS Volunteer Fair to be Tuesday (Oct. 17)

The Fall LSUS American Humanics Volunteer Fair will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 17) on the LSUS Mall outside the University Center and will feature representatives from organizations such as the Philadelphia Center, Sci-Port Discovery Center, American Red Cross, New Horizons, Shreveport-Bossier Community Renewal, and the Robinson Film Center.

The event, scheduled to be at its apex during LSUS “Common Hour” (10:30-11:15 a.m.) for the convenience of students, faculty and staff, is free and open to the public. In the event of inclement weather, the fair will be held in the University Center lobby.

Co-sponsored by the LSUS Community Service Initiative, the fair is designed to promote volunteerism and provide education about local nonprofit organizations and their missions. Representatives from more than 15 local nonprofit organizations will be available to answer questions and sign up new volunteers.
