LSUS to host free public Star Party Saturday

The LSUS College of Sciences and the Shreveport-Bossier Astronomical Society, Inc. will sponsor a free public star party on Saturday (Sept. 30). The star party will be held 7-10 p.m. at the Science Building on the LSUS campus.

Visitors can observe the “oceans,” mountains and craters on the Moon as well as many other astronomical objects. A free sky map and Moon map will be given to all visitors.

Future star parties will be held on Oct. 28 and Nov 18 at locations to be determined. The Nov. 18 star party will coincide with the Leonid meteor shower.
