Institute to host small
nonprofit conference

The LSUS Institute
for Human Services and Public Policy will host the 2006 Small
Nonprofit
Conference: Philanthropy and Fundraising” from
11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday (April 25) in the LSUS University
Center. The conference is free and open to the public, but pre-registration
is required.
The presentation of the Institute’s annual Philanthropy Award
will highlight the conference luncheon, at which time Mr. and Mrs.
Michael Woods and Mrs. Dalton (Sugar) Woods be honored for their
philanthropic contributions to the community.
The conference includes a panel discussion, “Examining Shreveport-Bossier’s
Philanthropy,” featuring local nonprofit leaders, and a special
presentation by Matt Beem, president of Hartsook Companies, Inc.
Beem will discuss “The Next Generation Campaign: Proven Strategies
for Successful Capital, Endowment and Operating Campaigns.”
Generous underwriting provides scholarships for attending the
