German
labor market reforms

Dr.
Michael C. Burda, a Shreveport native and professor of economics
at Humboldt
University
in Berlin, Germany, will discuss “Labor
Market Reforms in Germany” in a presentation at LSUS from
2 to 3 p.m. on Thursday (April 13) in Room 105 of the Business-Education
Building. The presentation is free and open to the public.
The LSUS College of Business Administration is hosting Burda’s
second visit to the campus by the then-Jesuit High School graduate
who received a Ph.D. degree in economics from Harvard University
in 1987. He has been a visiting professor of economics at the
U.C. Berkeley Haas School of Business and was twice a guest instructor
in the Advanced Studies program at the Kiel Institute for the
World
Economy in Germany. He has authored several textbooks and dozens
of articles and textbook chapters.
