| First of five LSUS Up-Close sessions
to be held Tuesday
04/01/06
LSUS will host the first of five LSUS Up-Close events for high
school seniors and their parents Tuesday from 1-4 p.m. The events
will be repeated each Tuesday through May 2.
Each session of LSUS Up-Close begins in the LSUS University Center
with welcoming comments by Dr. Gloria Raines, vice chancellor for
student affairs, and will give prospective students and their parents
a personal look at what LSUS has to offer. The programs include
presentations on financial aid and admissions, a guided tour of
the LSUS campus, as well as opportunities to meet with faculty
and administrators in the four academic colleges and talk with
current LSUS students. On April 18 and 25, the added excitement
of taking in a home game of the nationally ranked LSUS Pilots baseball
team will be available.
“We at LSUS pride ourselves on the personal attention our
students receive,” LSUS Registrar and Director of Admissions
Mickey Diez said, “and we feel LSUS Up-Close is the perfect
venue for high school students and their parents to experience
what our university has to offer.”
There is no cost for attendance, but reservations must be made
no later than 10 a.m. on the Monday prior to the Tuesday program
that the student plans to attend. Parents of students who wish
to learn more about LSUS are welcome to attend also. Simply have
your child add your name to the online reservation form. Online
registration is available at www.lsus.edu/admissions.
Parking
is available in the Business and Education Building parking lot
or by KDAQ Red River Radio and the LSUS mail room. For a printable
