Williamsburg fellowships available to Caddo teachers

Three Caddo Parish American history teachers will be offered full fellowships to attend the July 5-12 Summer Teacher Institute to be held in Colonial Williamsburg. The scholarship will be provided by the International Lincoln Center for American Studies at LSUS.

Deadline for application is Saturday, Feb. 25. The one-page application form is available in the International Lincoln Center office, Bronson Hall 321, 318-797-5138 or wpederson@lsus.edu.

According to Dr. William D. Pederson, an LSUS professor of political science, director of the Center and chair designate of the LSUS American Studies Endowed Chair, this is the ninth year that the Center has offered this opportunity to local teachers. Twenty-three Caddo Parish school teachers have been sent on the program. “They all report that the Institute is one of the best experiences of their teaching career,” Pederson said.
