Paul Sisson named dean of LSUS
College of Sciences

Dr. Paul Sisson, formerly chair of the LSUS Department of Mathematics
and Computer Science, was named dean of the LSUS College of Sciences,
effective April 19, replacing Dr. Al Vekovius, who is retiring.
In making the
announcement, Dr. Stuart Mills, provost and vice chancellor for
academic affairs,
said the College of Sciences “will
surely benefit from Dr. Sisson's energy, wisdom, and leadership.
He served as chair of the two departments (Mathematics and Computer
Science) for the past four years and succeeded in developing exciting
new initiatives in both departments.”
Sisson, a professor of mathematics, joined LSUS in August 1993
after receiving his Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of
South Carolina. He has published several articles in respected
mathematics journals, and has two textbooks currently in print.
