Bond to deliver LSUS commencement address May 18

Brian Bond, vice president-external affairs for AEP Southwestern Electric Power Company, will deliver the commencement address at LSUS graduation ceremonies at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, at the CenturyTel Center in Bossier City, according to Dr. Vincent J. Marsala, LSUS chancellor.

A 1981 graduate of LSUS with a Bachelor of General Studies degree in natural and applied sciences, Bond is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree from LSUS. At SWEPCO, his strategic focus is on community relations, economic development and public policy matters, particularly as they affect AEP’s business in the increasingly competitive electricity industry. He participates in building and maintaining external relationships with regulators, legislators, community leaders, consumers and other stakeholders who have an impact on SWEPCO’s activities in Arkansas, Louisiana and East Texas.

In addition to serving on the LSUS Foundation Board of Directors, Bond is a member of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry Environmental Quality Steering Committee and is a volunteer in the Shreveport-Bossier Community Renewal elementary school tutoring program.
